The Washington Center: Connecting Community to the Arts and Each Other

WA Center_2014The Washington Center for the Performing Arts (WCPA) strives to build relationships through arts and culture in the South Puget Sound. The Center was built by and with our community, and embraces the belief that fostering unique cultural experiences builds understanding, provides opportunity for learning, and enhances the quality of life for those who engage. Every year, The Center Presents brings a cadre of national and international touring artists from a broad spectrum of genres and styles to our community. But our first and foremost purpose is to provide support services to the many local performWCPA 2015ance groups who call the Center home. We are committed to providing world-class performing arts facility for the dozens of local arts organizations and artistic partners that call us home. These local artistic partners account for almost 300 performances each year. Hundreds of aspiring actors, musicians, and dancers perfect their craft on our stages with families and friends cheering from our seats.

Located in the heart of downtown Olympia, the Center has become a community gathering place for meetings, weddings and community events. We also present some of the finest visual art displays in Southwest Washington, helping to provide local artists a place for audience interaction as well as making art more accessible to our community.

Our facility contains a 983-seat proscenium theater with four seating levels and adjacent lobby spaces, a four level gallery space, as well as a smaller Stage II – Black Box Theater.

We are delighted to have played a role in cultivating a spirit of artistic and cultural expression within our community, and hope to do so for many years to come with your charitable support. Please donate through the Combined Fund Drive.
