Monarch Children’s Justice and Advocacy Center

This past year, 2020 – 2021, the Community Action Council of Lewis, Mason & Thurston Counties has continued to serve vulnerable individuals and families in need of critical services. We have expanded services and adapted to the ever-changing operational landscape of the pandemic. We are extremely proud of our Teams and their commitment to serve every day, and now through what can best be described as heartbreaking, tumultuous, times.

One of the programs maintaining services with incredible flexibility and elasticity is Monarch Children’s Justice and Advocacy Center. This program serves the most vulnerable among us, is one of 8 operating advocacy centers in the state of Washington and 1 of over 600 nationwide, and is in need of expansion.

Through Monarch CJAC, efforts continue to reduce the incidence and impact of child abuse by providing a coordinated, multidisciplinary response to victims and their families. This type of response includes prevention, investigation, prosecution, and treatment, and partners who are experts in those areas, all collaborating in one location.

This year CACLMT’s CFD campaign focuses on raising funds to support the expansion of the facility in which Monarch is housed. The vision for the new facility will allow for an additional 3,000 sq. ft. of space for therapy, forensic interviewing, and the Providence Child Sexual Assault and Maltreatment Center to share. The entire facility will be a child-friendly, comfortable, calming space. The main Council facility will then house the Thurston County Prosecutors, Child Protective Services, and drop-in space for law enforcement, interns, FBI, tribal nations, and other surrounding service providers.

The work undertaken by the multi-disciplinary team at Monarch, is funded by federal, state, and private, grants; through community foundations; in collaboration with other partner organizations; and, through contributions by individuals like you.

We hope you will join us again this year in our ongoing effort.
