CYS Provides Therapeutic Foster Care Services for BRS Youth

Community Youth Services (CYS) provides Therapeutic Foster Care Services for BRS youth who are referred by Washington State’s Division of Children & Family Services. The program utilizes a strength-based, multi-systemic treatment team approach to provide intensive home-, community- and school-based services designed to ensure placement stability, improve school functioning, decrease behavioral challenges, increase pro-social skills, and improve mental health.

On average, the youth referred to CYS’ Therapeutic Foster Care program have already been removed from nine or more foster homes. We currently have nine licensed foster care homes in five counties and eight respite beds. With these foster homes, CYS is currently able to serve up to 15 BRS youth, but always have a need for more.

If you are unable to become a Foster Parent or a Respite Caregiver there are other ways to help CYS, such as, making a donation. Your tax-deductible gifts enable CYS to continue to expand our services to youth, to add new programs, upgrade existing ones, purchase new equipment, and move ahead in various ways beyond normal operations.

Cash gifts are helpful but so are in-kind gifts. We always need clothing, socks or hygiene (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and deodorant). CYS also needs snacks, bus passes, and gift cards, if prearranged we can take left over foods from large parties or meetings or you can adopt a family or a youth during the holidays.

To donate items to CYS or questions on other donated items call Megan at 360-918-7844.
