May 4, Mon., Noon: "Spring Into History" series at the Museum presents Frances Anne Hopkins, Fur Trade Artist, by Dot Wilson, Historian and Author. In the mid-nineteenth century, Frances Anne Hopkins traveled by canoe through the Canadian wilderness with her husband, a Hudson's Bay Company official. She recorded the fading fur trade way of life with her paintings. SpeakerDot Wilson will discuss both the life and art of this talented individual. Copies of Dot's novel of Frances Anne Hopkins' years in Canada, Canoe Lady, will be available for signing. You are welcome to bring lunch. Coffee and tea will be served.
