Breaking News for 01/26/09

The FREE Dash shuttle continues to operate 6:45am‑7:15pm, weekdays. Dash service runs every 12 minutes all day long from the Olympia Farmers Market to the Capitol Campus. It is NOT operating on Saturdays until the Farmers Market reopens in April. Parking is available at both the Farmers Market lot and Capitol Visitor lot (east Cap Campus). Parking is 50 cents per hour. There are also numerous other parking lots located along the shuttle route. For people working on campus or in the downtown area, handy and cheap monthly parking is available at the Capitol Visitor lot for $15/mo.

Parking Alert: Repair work at the Natural Resources Building (NRB) visitor parking lot is on schedule, which means the lot will remain completely closed through February 7. A contractor hired by General Administration is installing a new top coating of the parking lot surface. The project is scheduled for completion by mid‑March.

Christine Ciancetta teaches students how to prepare fabulous Italian ‘small plates’ of food and pair them with old world wines in the Enoteca tradition. Jan. 30, Fri., Deadline for nominations to the United Way of Thurston County for the Gladys Burns Human Service Award, which recognizes an outstanding volunteer or professional from the human services community in Thurston County. The individual will be selected based on their length of service, impact on addressing community need and leadership on community issues. The recipient will receive a $500 stipend for the charity of his or her choice, a special recognition plaque, and will be honored on March 13 at United Way’s annual luncheon held at Saint Martin University’s Worthington Center.
