Dec. 2, Tue., 9:00-3:00: GA and WSP CFD Slent Auction and Ethnic Potluck, G.A. Auditorium. Potluck is a scrumptious homemade sampling of dishes from around the world. Special treat is the Matsiko Children’s Choir, an African Choir of the International Children’s Network. Proceeds benefit the International Children’s Network.

Dec. 3, Wed., 6 ‑ 8:30 p.m. Back by popular demand, Shauna James Ahern, known as the “Gluten‑Free Girl,” will be returning to Bayview School of Cooking (BSC) for the class “Holiday Foods for the Gluten‑Free.” This offering includes complementary wine pairing and is $50 per person. As usual, Instructor Pat Leslie opens the BSC kitchen as your hostess the first Thursday of each month from 9‑11 a.m. In addition, she will now be repeating the class in the afternoon.This complimentary program includes demonstrations, tastings and sage advice about cooking techniques, nutrition, recipes, ingredients, food storage and safety. Dec. 13, Sat., 12 Noon ‑ 3 PM: Annual Historic Holiday Celebration at the State Capital Museum

at 211 21st Avenue SW, in Olympia: The cost is $7 per person, $25 per family of four. celebrate a historic holiday in the beautifully decorated 1923 Lord Mansion, home of the State Capital Museum. Enjoy viewing a grand Christmas tree decorated with stylish ornaments reminiscent of the era. Have your picture taken with Santa by the ornate hearth in the mahogany paneled dining room.
