Aug. 22-24, Fri.-Sun.: The 8th Annual Sand in the City event, Washington State’s largest family sand‑sculpting festival, at Olympia’s Port Plaza Waterfront. Event hours are 10am to 4pm on Friday for public viewing of the team competition. Saturday hours are 10am to 8pm for the giant Beach Party with hands‑on activities for children.
